Author’s POV

“What point were you trying to make, Gail? Why the hell did you ask her all those questions? What the fuck was the reason for that?” Cory asked, his calm tone belying the anger that was practically oozing out of his pores.

They had come back from their walk in the woods, and instead of being relaxed and even more in love than ever, Cory had ambushed Gail.

“Why the hell are you being so defensive, Alpha Cory? I just asked her a few questions. What exactly is wrong with that?” Gail’s tone was not calm at all. She was screaming, almost as if she wanted everyone to hear them. The walls were soundproof, but a wolf’s hearing was very advanced, and if they shouted, people were going to make out that they were having a fight.
