Chapter 26. The Childhood
I chose to have my wedding in September for a very personal reason—it's the month my mother passed away. My original plan had been to pay her a visit before returning to New York, but life had a way of throwing curveballs, and many of my plans went unfulfilled. Still, I was determined to make this trip happen.
As I sat on my bed, gazing out through the glass window, I couldn't help but reflect on the past few days. My mother had been laid to rest in her hometown, and the journey there would take me two days. My father had opted not to accompany me on this trip, promising to join me later.
