Chapter 11. The Perfect Wedding
Eliza stared at him in surprise. He was not as she had imagined. Their eyes met, and Eliza eventually bowed and accepted the hand he offered.
"Let's dance." He communicated.
It wasn't a request, and she followed him. Despite her annoyance, she was resigned and went to the middle of the ballroom. She couldn't help but notice that he danced very well. She then thought of everything they said about him, and her hatred returned in full force. She decided to put her plan into action. She squinted her eyes and raised her head to look at him. She smiled as soon as she saw herself being watched. He stared at her, surprised and impressed, especially when looking at her teeth. But after the moment of surprise, he resumed dancing without making any comment.
Eliza got angry and, with all the false politeness she was capable of, asked him;
"Well, my fiancé? Don't you find me very beautiful? Am I as you expected?"
