Chapter 15. The Favorites

Liã was left in Pharaoh's chambers and unceremoniously closed the door, leaving her there without much kindness. They probably didn't know who she was or what she would become, for Pharaoh liked all his women to be treated with care and attention.

She thought she was alone until she saw someone's shadow through the veil of the canopy that covered the huge bed.

She approached and discovered there was a beautiful woman asleep. This woman seemed to sense her presence and eventually woke up. At first, she stared at him in surprise, then with a bored look, she sat up in bed.
