Chapter 59. The Return of the Concubines
The next day, Moses woke up happy. At last, he would have his wives living under the same roof again. He got up and called Onis to get him enough servants to move the concubines back to the palace. He did not want them to carry anything, for fear of harming the babies.
He also asked her to tell the kitchen that lunch should be served at the same time as usual but with four more places at the table. He went downstairs and had his breakfast while Onis made arrangements for him to take all the servants with him. He treated Eliza well, greeting her as if nothing much had happened, although he knew that Alfred, who was also at the table, must have already told him that he knew that she was aware that it was Alfred who visited her every night and that the child she was carrying was not his. However, he wouldn't mind raising him as his own, he just wouldn't allow him to be his heir to the throne.
