Red looked at Mrs. Verance as if he were studying a cunning predator. The corner of his mouth twitched, “Understood, there’s nothing more to discuss. You may leave.”
Finally, Mrs. Verance departed. Carolina felt a sense of relief.
“You’re amazing,” Ryan cheered, looking at Red like he was a mighty knight.
Facing Ryan’s admiration, Red’s emotionless expression remained unchanged. He said to Carolina, “Let’s go upstairs.” Then he went upstairs, leaving behind a cold and distant silhouette.
Ryan pouted, “Sis, does he not like me? It seems like he doesn’t want to see me.”
She ruffled his short hair, “No, it’s just his personality. If he didn’t like you, he wouldn’t have helped us today, right?”
“That’s true…”
