“M-Mr. Vincent, is there something you need?” Mrs. Verance stuttered, her tone now hesitant and obsequious.

“From now on, I don’t want you here. I hope you won’t come back to bother Carolina and Ryan again. If you do…”

“I understand, of course, I understand,” Mrs. Verance quickly cut off Red’s words, not wanting to hear any more threatening statements. Besides, she understood that if she offended the Vincent Corporation, her company might face consequences.

“Mr. Vincent, you worry too much. Even though I am their stepmother, I still care deeply for the two of them.”

Red looked at Mrs. Verance as if he were studying a cunning predator. The corner of his mouth twitched, “Understood, there’s nothing more to discuss. You may leave.”

Finally, Mrs. Verance departed. Carolina felt a sense of relief.

“You’re amazing,” Ryan cheered, looking at Red like he was a mighty knight.

Facing Ryan’s admiration, Red’s emotionless expression remained unchanged.
