Chapter 28

Carolina was puzzled by Red’s intentions, assuming he wanted to introduce a friend to her. But deep down, she had a growing sense of unease.

After a brief silence, Carolina noticed that the car wasn’t heading toward the city center but was going toward the suburbs.

“Where are we going to have dinner?” she asked.

“To my house,” Red replied coldly.

Carolina was taken aback. What kind of friend would visit Red’s house? Usually, he wouldn’t let anyone visit his house because there seemed to be a secret in the Vincent household that he didn’t want others to know about. Like that woman with messy hair who had gone mad in the middle of the night.

Carolina had speculated about her identity before. It seemed highly likely that she was the one Red had locked up, driving her insane. Just like her, Carolina’s life was bound to drive her to madness sooner or later.

“It seems like you’re not too thrilled,” Red raised an eyebrow.

“No,” she replied.
