“Get in the car. Let’s go have dinner,” Carlos stepped out of the car, smiling brightly.

“Um…” Carolina was about to refuse when her phone rang. “Sorry, please wait for a moment.”

She retrieved her phone from her purse, and it was Red calling. She glanced briefly at Carlos, hesitating before answering the call. “Hello…”

“Why did you just pick up now?” Red’s voice on the other end sounded irritated.

“I just finished work and was about to leave, so I didn’t hear the phone earlier.”

“It’s nine in the evening. Have dinner with me. I’ll come to pick you up.”

When the call was abruptly disconnected, Carolina hadn’t had a chance to say more.

That detestable man! He always did this, only caring about conveying orders and never considering her feelings.

“Carlos, I’m sorry, I have something to do tonight. Let’s make plans another time,” Carolina hailed a taxi and quickly left.

The charming smile on Carlos’s face slowly stiffened, and he w
