Chapter 27

The peaceful days returned, and Carolina spent her days working tirelessly. Her job was demanding, yet she still wanted to find another job. She wanted to become strong and stand on her feet as soon as possible.

Although she knew she was in love with Red, she also reminded herself that she couldn’t love him. Therefore, every day, she tried to distance herself from that man.

In the makeup room, Carolina was removing makeup from Carlos. He received a phone call and told her, “Come have dinner with me. I want to introduce you to someone.”

Carolina’s hand paused briefly. “Let’s talk about it tonight.”

If Red found out she was having dinner with another man, he would fly into jealousy. Red’s dominance and coercion sometimes made her feel suffocated.
