Zohar sneaked into Brian’s room.
She glanced briefly at her motionless husband on the bed, her manic tone turning normal. "Brian, I’ve come to visit you," she said with a hint of sorrow.
She sat down at the edge of the bed, gently caressing her husband’s face. "I’m sorry, I didn’t want to do this, but I had no choice. You know Frederick’s temperament, right? If he learned about these things, he might do something drastic for the sake of honor. So, Brian, I can’t let Frederick know, which is why you can’t wake up."
Tears streamed down Mrs. Trovica’s face, all due to her own wrongdoing. She stood up and took a small powder package from her pocket, her appearance now void of the usual madness.
