Chapter 44. Beggars Can’t Be Choosers
Just as Evangeline was about to ask what was going on, she saw a wonderful scene.
She had always felt that the Moon Pearl had a mind of its own, with how it usually moved in midair. But she had always dismissed that thought as she felt it likely had something to do with its nature. But right now, in front of her eyes, the Moon Pearl was moving in midair, standing between her and the fairy, and they had to lift their heads to look at it.
Even though there were no eyes on the surface of the Moon Pearl, Evangeline could feel it looking at the fairy and then at her before it said arrogantly, “Like mother, like daughter indeed.”
Evangeline didn’t understand what it meant, and the Moon Pearl had already continued but was this time speaking to her. “Hey, you! Don’t you know how to greet your elders, or should I teach you that?” Because it was said by a childish voice, it naturally sounded funny to the ear.
