I gaped at my PA, Hector Young, as I waited in my office for Philippe Bardot to show up. “What do you mean he won’t show up today? Didn’t his PA call to inform about his visit today?” I was fuming already. After Hector’s frantic call last night, I hadn’t been able to sleep a wink. 

I wondered why Philippe Bardot wanted to come over to the office on a Saturday. Did he know I had returned with Sydney? If he knew, wouldn’t he have come over to my house to get her? No, this had to be about something else. 

“Mr. Bardot’s PA, James Caldwell, has canceled the meeting scheduled for today, sir. He has cited no reasons whatsoever.” Hector gave me an apologetic look while I rose to leave the office.

It had been a total waste of time since morning. Tony and a few other trusted employees had come over to the office to face Mr. Bardot. Now, after eight hours, he canceled it without explanation.
