Adrian felt deeply hurt by the words Iris spoke when she had come to visit Andrew. He realized that he was jealous of Andrew. Iris had come to visit him and though she had found him with a lover, she never once uttered any bad word against him. It could only mean that she had started having feelings for Andrew. Why else would she come all the way from Moon Ville Pack to Moonlight Pack to see Andrew?

Also her shock was also indicative of her feelings for his brother. He should be happy that his brother’s patience in pursuing Iris had finally paid off but he was not. He wanted Iris for himself. He didn’t feel that he was being unjust, after all, Andrew had his own lover and Iris had been Adrian’s wife. Why couldn’t he have her back? Or more appropriately, why wouldn’t Iris want him back? But he knew the answer to that and it didn’t make the hurt any easier to bear.
