Elena stared intently, though her body was still weak. “You’re crazy...”
Margareth stood up again, then chuckled. “Let’s just say I’m a mother standing up for her son. Damian may not be the perfect man, but you’re his. And always will be.”
A cell phone suddenly rang loudly from outside the room.
Margareth glanced at her watch, then back at Elena. “You have two hours. Otherwise, I’ll create a scenario that you ran off with another man. Believe me, the media will love that story.”
Elena was speechless, trying to think of a way out of this place.
Elsewhere, Nathan paced the living room, cell phone in hand. Sonia sat on the sofa, her face beginning to panic.
“It’s been two hours. She said the meeting wouldn’t be long,” Nathan said.
“Call Tamara’s assistant. Maybe she’s with Elena?” said Sonia.
