Anita’s POV

“Are you alright?” I heard Richard’s voice echo as he ran towards where I was, and I stood there all frozen up.

How did Jason know where I was?

“We need to move; we need to move; we can’t stay here; it isn’t safe.” The words came out of my lips with no control, and I was starting to panic.

And I knew too well that my panic attack was knocking on the door any minute from that point.

Richard disappeared to my side in less than 5 seconds and pulled me into his arms, and we settled down on the floor of the kitchen. He kept trying to regulate my breath as my breath became faster and heavier, and the sweat all over me was like I just came out of the shower.

Still, he held me close to his body, regulating every movement.

And all that just went through my mind was that Jason was coming for me; he was determined and I’m not; I have fought and I’m tired; I can’t keep living my life like I was in a free prison.
