Chapter 22

It had only been a week since the fire outbreak at Madison’s coffee shop and now an incident of food poisoning. Madison could not believe her ears. She was on her way to the hospital, where Lila said the victims were being given medical care. Her heart pounded harder as she approached the place Lila was. Lila quickly embraced Madison after spotting her. Her eyes were sour and reddish from crying.

“Are you okay?” Madison asked her. She nodded in response. She was fine, but not the victim of the food poisoning.

“Where are they?” Madison asked to see the patients.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Lila said to her, knowing how emotional Madison could be.

Madison was still insistent on seeing them. There was no way she could be at peace if she didn’t see them.

When Madison walked into the ward, she encountered a chaotic scene. There were ten to thirteen sick people being attended to by medical personnel.
