Chapter 50. The Ring
“Will you be my other half, Rachel?”
Ezekiel can see it through the spaces in the bushes. He was kneeling down, probably offering a ring. He heard the exchange of hushes, of whispers, of words that are beyond what Ezekiel can barely even receive.
Ezekiel couldn’t even huff a noise or puff a curse. It has significantly declined what his intention was. He placed his hands over his mouth, gasping quietly, waiting for Rachel to blurt out what has to be the words that will linger on his mind forever… until she rotates the fate and is able to be with him.
“Luther… I…”
The silence overpowered their ragged breaths. There was no exchange of words for a minute. Ezekiel would bet they were on the phase of the staring contests, with a lot of questions dwindling around their heads that are left unsaid.
