Chapter 86
Gage’s POV
The ride back to the hotel is a quiet one. Scarlett and I don’t have anything to say to each other as our minds each wander too far away from the present.
I know for a certain that we can’t leave Jane all by herself again and she knows that too. It’s kind of like a silent agreement. She herself won’t ever agree to go by herself again until this case is over.
We pull into the hotel and we make it up to our suite. Jane’s eyes widen in mild surprise at the extravagance of the place but she soon gets used to it.
“Valentine would never let us get that close to Miguel. That’s why he came here himself.” Scarlett says with a tired sigh.
“True, but then he’s just a man. We can clear him out to take what we want. We aren’t exactly going to wait for his approval.” I retort.
“There’s that, but he’s going to be a particularly tough case to handle.” She breaths out.
“Not really, not if I can help.” Jane pipes up with certainty in her eye
