Beep! Beep! — Beep! Beep! — Beep! Beep!
It’s 6 am in the morning, and my alarm clock rings to shrug me off from sleep. Shrug? With how loud it blares, I’m yanked off the bed, pumped with adrenaline.
I rub my ears, stretching to turn off the alarm. Unintentionally, I send a groggy gaze to the window, my eyes gradually pulling to a close.
I shake myself awake. Knowing that mom is downstairs already, giving Kit breakfast and expecting me to show up in no time.
A loud yawn leaves my lips, and I stretch, coming to stare at the mechanical-looking birdlike thingy of the alarm. I remember getting the alarm just a few days ago, prior to my resumption at Glenlane High. I was truly excited.
Suddenly, a wave of shame and depression overcomes me, destroying my zeal to get to school. I grumble into my teddy pillow as my face is buried in it. Not at all eager to leave the bed.
