“Don’t insult my girlfriend. She’s not just my private nurse. Her family isn’t just a helper here. They’re our family. You don’t have the right to say hurtful words because you don’t know her!”

“Why? When did you just meet her? Ah! We’ve been together longer!” Maegan exclaimed.

Elijah laughed. “That’s what you thought. We’ve known each other since we were kids. We’ve been best friends ever since.”

Surprise registered on Maegan’s face. After a while, she grinned. “Ah... that’s why she has the courage to flirt with you.”

“Maegan, I didn’t flirt with Elijah!”

“I am not talking to you. Don’t interrupt!”

Elijah took a deep breath before speaking. “Tomorrow, I don’t want to see your face here anymore. Just get out of here because you’re fine.” He held her hand and pulled her closer to the door of his room.

“You two won’t be happy. You’ll break up too!”

Elijah stopped, then Maegan confronted him. “You wish!”

They both entered the room.
