Chapter 16. Rivalry
Mika looked at Sam worriedly. She just remembered what Mary told her earlier. A deep sigh of disbelief came out of her mouth.
"Are you alright? Something's bothering you?"
"Nothing's bothering me, Sam. I am alright," she replied.
"I'll cook you some breakfast," he uttered, and Mika just nodded her head with a broad smile.
Sam was dressed simply in a white t-shirt and jeans, his hair tousled from snoozing. Even in his casual dress, Mika couldn't help but notice how attractive he was. She had always found him attractive, but seeing him in the kitchen made him much more enticing.
"What are you making?" she asked him.
"Scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast," Sam answered, gesturing to the frying pan on the stove. "And I've got coffee brewing, too. Do you like your eggs soft or hard?"
"Soft, please," Mika said as she took a seat at the kitchen table. She watched as Sam went around the kitchen with ease, breaking eggs and cooking bacon. She had alw
