Chapter 24. Wanting Her Back!
Sam stopped his car in front of Mary's apartment complex and placed it in the park. "We're here," he said, smiling. "I hope you had a good time tonight."Mary returned his smile, but it was different this time. It wasn't as brilliant as it normally was. "Yeah, thanks for dropping me off at home," she answered quietly. Sam smiled at her, "Yeah. I'll get going now," he then started the engine and drove headed to the bar.
Samuel strolled into the dimly lit bar, the sounds of glasses clinking and chatter filling his ears. He took a big inhale, the smell of beer and cigarettes assaulting him. He walked over to the bar and sat on one of the stools. The bartender, a middle-aged man with a thick beard, approached him."What can I get you, Sir?" the bartender asked him.
"Just a beer," he replied, his voice hoarse.
The bartender nodded and reached for a bottle of beer from the refrigerator.
"Here you go, Sir."
