Chapter 15. A Bad Plan!

Sam sipped his latte while scrolling through his phone at the coffee shop. He had just ended a meeting and was taking a few moments to himself before returning to work. When he looked up, he saw Mary approaching him with a smile on her face.

"Hey, Sam!" Mary exclaimed, taking a seat across from him. "It's been a while."

Sam politely smiled, but he couldn't help but feel a pang of remorse. Mary was his first love, but he refused to date her because he was involved with Mika. Mary hadn't been seen or spoken to in months, and suddenly, she was seated right in front of him.

"Yeah, it has," Sam replied, taking another sip of his coffee. 

"I had been waiting for you, Sam. You said... We would date, but I guess I misheard it," she said. 

Sam knew that he had hurt her. "I'm sorry, Mary. I just realized that I loved someone else," he replied and saw her nod her head.
