Chapter 133. The Most Unexpected Thing
Catherine’s POV
“Sh*t!” David gasped under his breath and froze in fear, noticing the glowing red eyes approaching us from the west side of the forest.
The rogue didn’t seem in a hurry or aggressive and was calmly moving forward.
I couldn’t make out his size, color, or even rank—just the glowing red eyes. He made sure he was moving among the shadows and was very careful about keeping his identity secret.
His eyes seemed to grow brighter, even excited, as he came closer to seeing us.
That made me worried.
Why would a rogue be so cautious about hiding his identity? And why did his eyes light up when he saw us?
Were my eyes playing tricks on me?
David kept his eyes locked on the rogue, watching his every movement in silence. He knew if he started running, the rogue would chase after us, and the chances of the rogue catching us could end up catastrophic.
“Maybe he will leave us alone if we stay still,” David whispered.
