Colt’s POV
“Everything is arranged,” Grey said as he peeked his head into my office.
“When will Alpha Duncan and his warriors arrive to collect their prisoner?” I asked, going through the reports on my desk.
“Uhm.” Grey hesitated, and I lifted my gaze to meet his. He looked like a deer caught in headlights.
“Soon,” he finally said.
Was he withholding something?
“What’s wrong?” I asked, setting the pen down on my desk.
“Nothing,” he said, turning to leave.
“Grey, I know you as well as the back of my hand; don’t lie to me,” I warned.
Grey turned his head and looked at me over his shoulder.
“Something is off,” Ray yapped, coming closer. “I can smell uncertainty and fear from him.”
“What do you think he did?” I asked. “Grey doesn’t just do things without calculating every angle before he makes a decision.”
“My money is on something that you and Sam wouldn’t be happy about,” Ray said.
