Chapter 19
Bea's POV
I sighed in frustration as I tried to convince my friends that they had misunderstood me. "It is not what you all are thinking," I said, desperately shaking my head and hands in a clear act of refusal.
But instead of understanding, Kyle burst into laughter. "Yeah, sure, of course. It really is NOT what we are thinking," he said between chuckles. The rest of the group joined in, creating an atmosphere that made me even more uncomfortable.
Feeling the need to escape the awkward situation, I suggested, "Uhh... I think I should just go and buy drinks for a brief moment." I hoped that by excusing myself, I could defuse the tension and clear up any misunderstandings. With those words, I began to walk away, ready to leave the conversation behind me.
However, just as I was about to make my exit, Josh stopped me in my tracks. "Hey, wait," he called out, a determined look on his face. "Let me come along
