Chapter 24
Once my consciousness returned, I could not contain my excitement and shouted, "Hey!" at Ian. It had been quite a deep conversation with him, and I had fallen asleep shortly after, exhausted from pouring my heart out. Now, I found myself disoriented and clueless about our current location. Ian had been driving for a solid two hours.
"Why the hell are you shouting?" Ian responded, clearly focused on the road, paying me no attention.
"Why have we ended up in the middle of the FOREST?!" I exclaimed, my panic rising as I desperately wanted to turn back.
"Because this is the way to our destination," he calmly explained, not bothered by my distress.
"What? No! Stop the car!" I pleaded, my fear overriding any concern for the darkness or the dangers lurking in this unfamiliar place. All I cared about was getting out of here immediately.
But it seemed Ian was completely ignorant to my distress. This man seems not
