Chapter 23

Noam massaged his neck gently and tilted it to remove the ache in it. He watched the little children running about and playing in the water. The sight warmed his heart. He loved the children and the tranquility they provided.
“My lord.” He turned his attention in the direction of the voice and smiled a heartwarming smile when he saw his wife walking toward him. She got closer to him, kissed him on the lips, and sat on his lap. “What are you thinking about, my lord?”
He exhaled and rubbed her back. “About how blessed we are. It’s a really good thing that we found a vaccine for the virus right on time. I can’t imagine these innocent children suffering for things they have no clue about,” he said.
“I’m proud of you, Noam,” she said with a smile.
“Of course you are. Who else would you be proud of?” He teased, making her laugh. She shook her head at his antics and kissed his forehead. “There is something else, though...”
“What is that?”
