Chapter 14. Meeting the In-Laws

Carla woke up to the soft rustle of her curtains and early morning air flowing into her room. 

She yawned as she sat up and rubbed her eyes tiredly. Mark's concoction had done the trick and she felt like she was floating on air as got off her bed and exited her room in search of the bathroom.

The young girl stumbled through the dark as she cursed herself for not finding a flashlight first. She located the hallway's lightswitch and was finally able to see which door led to the room she was looking for.

Now that the need to pee was not gripping her as violently, Carla was more aware of her surroundings. Mark's home was a small one and she was currently standing in the hallway that led to the two bedrooms and bathroom. 

A clock on the wall read '3:16 am' and she groaned in annoyance of waking up so early and having to wait without any form of entertainment.

Her phone was somewhere, probably hidden by the leader of the kidnapping ring to stop her
