Chapter 30
Dr. Elliot Baker glided into the laboratory quickly, trying to catch his breath. His eyes went straight to the corner of the laboratory where his sample was. He found Sally standing right beside it, a confused look on her face. This did not look good, he thought.
Just a few minutes ago, he’d received a distress call from Sally regarding the sample in the test tube. He could not make out everything she said on the phone, but he’d hurried down here from one of his sessions with a patient to find out what was going on.
“Doctor Baker,” Sally called out to him. He was now just a few inches from her. “I apologize for the disturbance, but you said I should call you if I notice anything.”
Elliot did not look like he had any objections. His eyes were fixed on the test tube. It took a moment for him to see what this was about. And when he saw it, his eyes riveted back to Sally.
