Chapter 29

The master took a bowl from one of the men in the circle and stirred its content to his satisfaction. Then, he pushed it forward to Alex, urging him to drink from it.

Alex received the bowl with shaky hands and took it slowly to his mouth. He took a small sip from it and returned it to the master. Then, his head began to swim.

It took just seconds for him to begin to lose control of his senses. The more he tried to hold on to the present, the more it slipped away.

His subconsciousness took in the rest of the events of the night even though he could not understand anything that was happening around him. There was a lot of dancing and howling.
