Chapter 20

I'm not sure how long we were staring into each other's eyes like this. I adored his gorgeous deep brown eyes, which were always brimming with pride, emotion, and leadership. I may get lost trying to grasp its depths and reach into his soul.

Someone coughed faintly in the direction of the Palace. Matias and I sat up and turned to see our parents. They all gazed at us with concern and love, but most of all with joy for both of us. As I felt the blush penetrate my cheeks, I hastily turned my face away. Matias kissed my cheek before acquiring the posture of a leader and standing up straight. He looked to exude strength and command. I cracked a smile. He appeared to be majestic and royal.

He extended his hand, which I received before getting up and wrapping his arm around my waist. Matias turned to face his father.

"Are we needed right now?" Matias inquired.
