Chapter 262. The Comfort His Voice Gives

“So… are you giving up yet?” I asked Tate as we walked into the on-call room. He headed straight to the water dispenser, gulping down a full glass of water, and quickly went for a second one.
“I’m just thirsty… giving up already?” he raised an eyebrow at me as he shot back the question.
“I was just asking…” I replied, laughing. After he finished with the water dispenser, I grabbed a glass for myself. I was thirsty too since I’d already finished my hot mocha, and it had been pretty sweet.
“Where to next?” he asked, plopping down on the couch that was just a few inches away from the water dispenser.
“Are you hungry yet?” I asked while washing the glasses we’d used. “We can grab lunch now since the rounds won’t start again until after lunch.”
