Chapter 300. A Stranger in the Dark

Von and Ashton only spent about two days planning what they were going to do to scare me. They wanted my reaction to be genuine, so they didn’t tell me what they were going to pull off—and, well… it worked. I was completely caught off guard by what they did. That was what Nicole and Conan witnessed earlier.

As far as I know, they also planned to scare Dylan in a similar way, without telling him the details, to ensure his reaction would be authentic too. I wasn’t sure if they had already carried it out today, though.

Naturally, Dylan and I asked how we would know whether it was just one of their pranks or the real stalker messing with us. They explained that they’d leave a subtle mark—a small comma at the bottom of any threatening notes they left. And if they ever scared us physically, they promised to say, “This is us,” once we were frightened enough, so we wouldn’t be too traumatized thinking it was the real thing.

Aside from the scares they plann
