“Damn, damn, damn. I’m not prepared for him! Cancel the meeting with Mr. Abravanel, schedule a dinner. Tell Taylor that there was an unexpected situation, explain about the merger, and have everyone from the team sent to the meeting room. Tell Vanessa that there won’t be pizza today.”

Without looking at the Alpha’s face, she said: “Would you like some water? Coff…”

“What are you doing here?”

Matheus smiled at the petite woman’s surprise.

“Are you here to work or to check how I use words?”

As Matheus left the room, he smiled. “Aren’t you coming?”

“I need to make some phone calls. I’ll be there shortly.”

Alanna closed the door and called Vanessa.

“Hey, so are you able to walk yet?”

“Vanessa.”

“I’m still waiting for the juicy details.”

“Vanessa… The Alpha is here!”

“Huh?”
