Chapter 20. Dinner

I gave Vince a big embrace as we traveled. I’m not used to Bruce being an enemy, but perhaps it’s best if we ignore each other. Vince removed my helmet as soon as we got to school, took my hand, and led me onto the grounds.
Despite being irritated, I’m ecstatic about what Vince is doing. Vince’s presence has helped me relax, so I’m okay. When we entered the room, Lucy promptly approached me to ask:
“Have you seen Bruce? Do you know where he went?” Lucy asked.
“I thought you were together, but we didn’t talk, so I have no idea where he is,” I said.
“I’m anxious since I haven’t been able to reach him since morning,” Lucy said.
“Maybe his phone’s low on battery; try again later,” I said.
