Chapter 23. Preparation

“Why are you feeling so down? It’s your birthday; you should be celebrating!” Simoune exclaimed.

“I just feel stressed about something,” I said.

“Is everything okay? Do you want to talk about it?” Simoune asked with a concerned face.

“I’m not ready to tell anyone, Simoune,” I said.

“Okay, take your time,” Simoune said. “Anyway, Vince and I will throw a party tomorrow to celebrate your birthday! So, you don’t have to worry about it.”

Luckily, Mr. Romeo arrived at that moment because Simoune might have reprimanded me for not sharing my problem with her. I observed Simoune and Vince, and Simoune seemed to be enjoying his presence. However, Vince kept lying to her about their relationship.

After class, Simoune came to say goodbye and gave me a hug before they departed.

“Looks like you won’t be forgiven,” I said to Bruce.
