Chapter 101. Shots
Maddie thought that Jacob was joking about the order, but when she watched the waitress walk away without him stopping her from telling her that it was indeed a joke, she knew that he was serious.
“I don’t drink, Jacob. You know that,” She said, nervousness tinging her voice.
“I know, but you’re going to try tonight. Tonight is about loosening up, remember? I think a little alcohol is way better than w**d, honestly.”
“And have you ever tried w**d?” Maddie raised one of her brows.
“No, but I know.” He shrugged, sticking his tongue out at her as if he was a five-year-old. This made her chuckle freely.
She wanted to continue to complain about the alcohol that was ordered but decided against it. Her plan was to have fun and let loose tonight. Her plan was to forget about worries and troubles and just enjoy herself.
But for now, she still felt stiff and heavy-hearted.
When the drinks came, Maddie stared at them
