Chapter 102. The Dance Floor

Maddie was led to the dancefloor by Jacob and in those few seconds, she was tempted to look back at what had been going on in her life for the past few days to weeks, but when she tried to do that, it seemed impossible. 

The alcohol had dulled certain of her abilities, one of them being the one to overthink. She had no choice but to be in the moment. A song played in the club that Maddie absolutely loved. 

It was from a new artist that she loved and enjoyed. And from the way everyone in the club was dancing, she figured that they loved the artist too. 

Maddie was not a great dancer, in fact, one of her fears was having to dance publicly for people to see her. The very thought of it used to make her nauseous. But after the shots of liquor, she did not give a damn.
