Maddie tried to help, she may have been almost drunk, or maybe even drunk but she still had sense of what was going on around her. “I’m so sorry,” She said to Jacob. “Did any of it touch your clothes?” 

Jacob shook his head, picking up the glass from the counter. It was not like it had fallen to the floor, it only fell to the side, causing everything in the glass to spill. “I’m not going to pay for this still, am I?” He asked the bartender who was now helping him clean the area with a dry cloth. 

“Yeah, buddy. You spilled it, not me,” The man replied, casting him an apologetic smile. 

“Well, that’s sad,” Maddie slurred the words, giggling a bit when she heard how she sounded. She was being so silly and she knew that it was because she was drunk. But she was enjoying herself, that was what was important to her. 

For once, she did not have her mind spinning at high speeds, trying to figure out everything.
