Chapter 118. The Fight

Nate stumbled back, momentarily caught off guard by the force of Jacob’s punch. He wiped the blood from his lip with the back of his hand and looked up, eyes blazing with a mix of rage and determination. 

Maddie stood frozen, her scream echoing in the room. She had hoped to avoid this confrontation, but now it was spiraling out of control. 

“Alright, you asked for it,” Nate growled, lunging at Jacob with surprising speed. The two men collided with a thud, wrestling for dominance. Maddie felt a surge of panic and stepped back, her mind racing for a way to stop the fight without getting hurt herself. 

“Stop it, both of you! This isn’t helping anyone!” She shouted, but her words were drowned out by the sounds of fists hitting flesh and the grunts of exertion. 

Jacob managed to get the upper hand for a moment, pinning Nate against the wall. “I’m not the same person I was, you f*cker. I know I messed up, but I have changed,” He panted, trying to catch
