Chapter 125. A Plan With Vanessa

Maddie took a deep breath, steadying herself. There was so much that she could tell the girl right now but she had to be careful, especially when she knew that the girl was most definitely not her friend. 

She knew that Vanessa did not like her, the girl did not have to tell her. She saw how the girl behaved, her body language, her slip of tone, and her saying that she was trying her best to be respectful. 

There were clear signs. 

“Look, Vanessa, I understand how you feel,” She began. Did Maddie understand how Vanessa felt? Maybe, but maybe not, but there was a point. “But you should know that it’s not my choice to be here either. In fact, I’d like nothing more than to leave and have Nate reject me,” She blurted out, holding her breath once she did. 

Vanessa doubled back, her eyes widening in surprise. “Wait, what? Did I just hear you right?” She chuckled in disbelief and confusion, her demeanor changing and becoming much more open to the omega.
