Maddie’s eyes widened in shock. Oh, no; this was not happening. This was not happening at all. She took a breath and let it out slowly. “Wha–what did you just say?” She asked, stammering. 

Nate was guessing at first, it had just been a hunch. A part of him had told that it was the truth but another part of him had told him that he was just being delusional. “I said that it was all a lie, an act to treat me into believing something that was not true.” He folded his arms on his chest.

Normally, doing something like this took a lot of strength and mental power. And he was talking about having to communicate with Maddie through the mate bond that they shared even though she was asleep.
