Chapter 220. All Her Fault?

Maddie did not know whether she should have been worried or not. But of course, her mind chose to be worried. What if lightning had struck the alpha’s car and he had run into a tree or it had explored? 

Or…what if her mind was just spinning and she was just being paranoid and worried. She glanced behind her and she remembered that she did not have enough time until the other students came out. 

She needed to get out of there. She started to walk until she was at the bus stop, but she felt like it was not far enough, considering that a few students would be heading there. 

Maddie decided to walk a block away from the bus stop and when she did, she sat on the curb and pulled out her phone. Just like magic, she saw a call coming in. It was not Nate, it was Vanessa. 

Was she calling to give bad news? Damn, Maddie needed to get ahold of herself. She answered the call and took a deep breath before letting it out slowly. “Hello?”
