Chapter 226. Carnage

Maddie looked at Nate and saw the look on his face. It was clear that he did not like the decision and that he had an opinion that he was not going to swallow at all. And just like that, the alpha shook his head. 

“I told you all before, our way is not magic or witchcraft. That is not the way of our people.” 

Elder Roy nodded. “We know this, but we need help. You know what happened the last time when we had a prophecy. We had almost lost the war against the Shadow Pack, and you know that we would have lost if we had sought the help of the sorcerers from the very beginning.” 

“Maybe your mother would have been alive if we were going to use magic from the very start of the war, or from the moment we had gotten that prophecy,” Another elder added. 

Maddie knew that this was a recipe for disaster. She kept her mouth shut, not wanting to get between anything, she did not want to pick sides and just wanted to be there for attendance, really.
