Chapter 245. They're Gone

Jacob’s fists clenched under the table, his jaw tightening as he tried to keep his composure. The tension in the room was palpable, and Maddie could feel it pressing down on her, making it hard to breathe. 

“Damion,” Maddie said softly, trying to diffuse the situation, “I appreciate your hospitality, but could we maybe talk later? I’d like to enjoy breakfast with my family and friends.” It was brave of her to even say this but she knew she had to do something or things would escalate. 

The truth was that she was scared of the rogue alpha, just being close to him this entire time had her heart beating in fear. 

Damion’s eyes flickered with annoyance, but he forced a smile. “Of course, Maddie. We will talk later.” He leaned back in his chair, taking a bite of his food while his gaze continued to linger on her.
