Chapter 72. I Don't Trust You

Maddie gasped, her hands instinctively flying up to claw at his hand. The pressure on her throat made it difficult to breathe, and her vision started to blur around the edges. This was the second time that something like this had happened. 

The first time was with Jacob at the house party when she had caught him cheating. 

The fear that had been simmering beneath the surface now threatened to consume her entirely. 

“Know your damn place, omega,” Elder Roy spat, his grip tightening. “You think you have any right to defy me? You’re nothing and will always be.” Then he let her go, watching her struggle to capture as much air as possible. “This is your final warning, and that’s only because I’m a merciful man. But stay away from the alpha or I will destroy your sorrowful little life,” He said in a hard tone.
