Chapter 79. Know Who You Are

Riding in the back of Jacob’s car that he went back for at the event, Maddie felt like her brain was fighting itself. Her head was aching really badly and she felt like screaming and crying at the same time. 

Her heart felt heavier than a truck of bricks, and her night had been ruined; her perfect little magical night. Truly, it was going to be a night to remember, but not in a good way. 

When they arrived at his house, he parked the car in the garage and turned off the engine. Then he removed his seatbelt before stepping out. Maddie was right behind him, she removed her seatbelt too, and stepped out of the car. 

The garage had a dim light and had a new car smell for some reason. Jacob led Maddie out of the space and into the huge house. As they walked down the hallway that was not far from the living room, his mom called out, “Jacob, is that you? What are you doing back so soon?”
