Lyra’s POV

I love Lucian, I have always had, I always will.

We’ve known each other since I was seven and he was ten. I met him the same day I met Cassian and Dorian. We all met at the birthday party that Alpha Caden, their father, had thrown to celebrate his heirs turning ten. It was a big party, a royal event, only nobility were allowed to attend.

My father had attended begrudgingly, he was angry with the Alpha for a bill that had been passed, I’m not sure about the full details, I just know it was something that had really hurt my father, it had caused a strain in my father’s friendship with Alpha Caden.

In spite of the differences between my father and the Alpha, we still had to attend because of my father’s position in the cabinet. He is Alpha Caden beta, so not attending would leave a bad taste in people’s mouth.
