Chapter 12

Sky's POV

“What the hell are you doing in my house?” Ethan stomps down the stairs, jumping off of them three steps too soon.

“Ethan, manners.” His mother scolds.

I attempt to conceal my smile, but it's no use; it spreads across my face.

Ethan rolls his eyes. “Sorry. Sky, what the hell are you doing in my house?”

“I actually had to talk to you about something. It’s kind of urgent.”

He raises his eyebrows and smirks at me. “What about? Shall we take this to my bedroom?”

“Ethan!” His mother scolds.

“Sorry, my office.” He does air quotes around the words office and he wiggles his eyebrows at me.

“Um, sure.” I rock onto the tips of my toes and back onto my heels.

“Okay, I can take a hint.” His mother laughs. “Oh Sky, would you please stay for dinner?”

“No.” Ethan barks.

His mother and I both cast a wary gaze in his direction, unsure of what to make of him.

“I’m sorry, but did I ask you?”
