Chapter 19

Sky's POV

“Why have I ended up here?” I emerge from his bed and tousled my hair with my fingers.

“You collapsed after the training and have been in a state of slumber since.” He sets his book down with a thud and stretches his arms before heading towards his bed.

“I still don't understand why I ended up here,” I run my fingers over my right arm, searching for the gash Megan had inflicted earlier, but all that remains is a faint scar that will disappear in a matter of hours.

“What did you want me to do with you?” Ethan asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

“How about bringing me home?”

“My house was closer.” He shrugs. 

We were both at a loss for words, and the silence hung heavily between us.

“How’s Megan?”

“As far as I know, she is currently conscious, in a state of anger and frustration, but on the path to recovery.”

I nod. I look across the bed and up into his eyes. “Why didn’t you stop me?”
